+ Very friendly service, the receptionist tried to solve the WiFi problem. The dinner was excellent. Very convenient closed parking facilities next door.
- My US colleague had chosen this hotel because it offered WiFi connection in the brochure. It turned out to be rather difficult in reality, needed to hire a special hardware interface, did not work out to his satisfaction.

+ The hotel was clean, facilities were very nice, staff was helpful, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent.
- I have two main complaints about the hotel's procedures: (1) When going out you are supposed to leave your key at the front desk. I do not understand why. When you get back, you just tell them your room number and they give you your key back. What is someone walks in off the street and claims to be staying there but isn't? They could steal all your stuff. When I went out for a few hours and got back, there was a different person working the desk (so they couldn't have recognized me), and I wasn't asked to show id. They just gave me the room key with no questions. (2) the deadbolt to lock the doors from the inside uses the key. What if you lock the door and then misplace the key? You would have locked yourself in your own room.

Hotel van Walsum, a family hotel located in the museum area of the city centre. There is a good public transport connection with event centre Ahoy. This hotel is the excellent start if you want to visit the museums, shops, Euromast and the Spido. The characteristic hotel with a homely original Dutch atmosphere offers comfort with facilities such as an elevator, a lounge with bar, 24-hours reception, internetcorner, a separate tv-conversation room and a quiet back-garden with terrace. The hotel has good parking facilities.
